Scientists allowed to drink a lot of coffee!
Rather, they refuted the rumors that coffee is harmful and its consumption must be strictly limited. We will consider this fragrant drink rehabilitated and gladly inform you how many cups per day are considered a harmless norm.
British scientists save the world!
Of course British scientists intervened in the history of coffee salvation, who conducted thorough research and came to sensational conclusions. They together with the Heart Disease Fund studied the effects of caffeine on human arteries. And, to everyone’s surprise, found out that 25 cups of coffee does not affect the stiffness of the arteries and, despite this terrible, at first glance, number, it does not lead to a stroke or heart attack!
Do not rush to rejoice
Of course, such conclusions of researchers does not mean that we will now begin to drink coffee in such volumes. “In my opinion, this is pretty dumb reporting,” comments Dr. David Katz, director of Yale Griffin’s Prevention Research Center and author of “The Truth About Food”, in an interview with the Huffington Post on the sensational statement that coffee is harmless.
The thing is that only one effect was studied, but the problem as a whole was not taken into account, according to Katz. After all, caffeine has a negative effect on other systems, so talking about the harmlessness of this product as a whole is impossible.
So how many cups of coffee a day is allowed?
Let’s calm down and go back to previous studies that determine the average harmless consumption rate of this most popular stimulant in the world. It is 3-4 cups of coffee per day, but 1-2 cups will nevertheless be optimal. The fact is that coffee is a drink that stimulates the nervous system, while people are most often in a state of stress or hypersensitivity. A number of 25 cups can only say that the previously described phenomenal harm from an overdose of caffeine is somewhat exaggerated.
