Health Benefits of Spirulina

Spirulina is one of the most popular types of superfoods—natural products that contain a large number of beneficial nutrients and vitamins.

“Superfood” is not a medical or scientific term. In fact, many nutritionists and experts even consider it a marketing gimmick, as we are talking about plant-based foods whose beneficial properties have been known for quite some time.

Spirulina is a type of sea algae and a complete source of natural protein. It contains a high concentration of vitamins B1, B2, B3, B12, iron, chlorophyll, antioxidants, iodine, and beneficial Omega-3 and Omega-6 fatty acids.

Spirulina is commonly consumed in tablet form or as a powder that can be dissolved in water or added to smoothies, juices, shakes, or yogurts. The recommended daily dose is 1–2 tablespoons per day.

It’s important to note that superfoods cannot replace regular food and are usually used as natural dietary supplements.
