Alina Palkina: We Betray Our Health by Choosing the Quick-Fix Pill

Alina Palkina is a nutrition coach and the founder of the Fooditation project, which aims to teach people how to care for themselves, preserve youth, and strengthen both physical and mental health through proper nutrition.

In an interview with VITAGURU, Alina talked about how she became a nutritionist, debunked popular myths about healthy eating, and shared her secret to success.

Alina, tell us about yourself. How did you decide to become a nutrition coach?

I have a degree in international law and am fluent in three foreign languages. But a healthy lifestyle has been with me since birth—this topic has always been close to my heart and incredibly interesting to me.

What started as a hobby gradually became a deep passion. Over time, I devoted more and more attention to it.

In addition, I’ve been developing my culinary skills and taste from an early age, since my dream has always been to stay young and beautiful. By the time my children were born, I was already a fully prepared specialist in healthy living.

I studied at Precision Nutrition in the USA, where I completed the “Master the Science of Nutrition and the Art of Coaching” level. Thanks to my legal background, I’m skilled at structuring and systematizing information, delivering knowledge in an understandable way, motivating people, and helping them. I’ve developed a proven strategy and know how to transition from theory to practice—how to implement the acquired knowledge into life so it actually works.

I built a comprehensive program to promote and develop a culture of healthy eating. Today, we actively teach people how to build and maintain healthy eating habits, make the right food choices in any situation, understand and respond to their body’s needs, and prepare tasty, nourishing food that builds health.

Additionally, when I became a mother—and now I’m a mother of two—I began developing a focus on children’s nutrition. It’s now proven that all eating habits are formed from an early age. That’s why I support conscious parents who want to teach their children this lifestyle and who need support and education. I also effectively work with children over 10 years old who can understand and process this information. Together, we also learn cooking skills.

Today, knowing how to prepare wholesome food and make healthy choices in any situation is a basic act of self-care.

What are the most common myths about healthy eating that you encounter in your Fooditation project?

The biggest myth is that a healthy lifestyle automatically means a restrictive diet with lots of food bans. We’re here to break that myth. We promote the 90/10 rule, where 90% of your diet consists of clean, natural foods, and 10% can be “pleasure foods”—foods you enjoy.

Another myth is that sweets are the enemy. That’s not true—you can eat sweets, but it’s important to understand which ones. You need to know your “enemies” face-to-face. That’s a reason to learn more about what sugar really is.

A third major myth is obsessively counting calories. What really matters is not the calories, but the quantity and variety of nutrients in your food.

How can a proper nutrition system help preserve youth and improve health?

It’s important to understand that youth and beauty start with health. Aging is not a scary word or a monstrous process to fear or avoid.

On the contrary, aging is a natural part of life—an inevitable, biologically programmed process. But how it unfolds and the condition of our body today—and 5, 10, 20, or 30 years from now—depends entirely on us.

We can have a direct and lasting impact on our future health through our daily habits and lifestyle. That’s why nutrition and lifestyle choices fundamentally shape the quality of aging and our overall vitality.

What are the key principles of mindful eating? Where should someone start on the journey to healthy eating?

Start by asking yourself, “What do I want from life?” For example:

– What do you want?

– I want to lose weight.

– Why?

– To be liked by others.

– Why?

And you keep asking until you reach the real, underlying reason—“To be happy.”

Once you clearly identify your top priority in life, that becomes your internal driving force, the motivation that will push you to begin and stay committed to your journey.

That’s already the first step toward reclaiming your health and well-being. And from there—come join us at Fooditation.

What is your stance on diets? Should people follow strict dietary rules?

My answer is simple. I’m categorically against diets and strict food restrictions. I firmly believe there’s no one-size-fits-all “perfect” diet. We explore all the details in our programs.

What are the most common mistakes people make in their diets?

Today, many people overconsume simple carbohydrates—this is the number one mistake. There’s also an excess of empty calories and highly processed foods.

Another major issue is nutrient deficiency and the absence of a ritual around preparing wholesome, homemade meals. It’s no longer trendy to cook for yourself—we don’t want to invest time and energy into it, but that’s a mistake. We betray our health by choosing the quick-fix pill. In the end, it only harms us.

How do you start integrating healthy habits into your life?

Define a clear goal. For example, “I want to be healthy and have beautiful skin.” Then build a step-by-step plan for adopting healthy habits.

Start by choosing the right environment, feeding your mind with the right books and films, joining communities, and surrounding yourself with like-minded people.

And choose one of our online programs for building healthy habits.

What does a holistic and mindful lifestyle mean to you? Can you share your personal wellness rules?

Zero waste living—don’t create internal waste. Nothing goes unnoticed. Everything we put into our bodies either builds our health or breaks it down. I choose nutribiotic food that nourishes every cell in my body.

I treat the world around me with the same care and respect. I don’t pollute it—I care about the environment. This is the foundation of my everyday life philosophy, no matter where I am.

This mindset shapes the steps I take and the principles I live by. We explore and adopt all of this within the Fooditation project.

It’s about taking responsibility—for your body, for the natural gifts you’ve been given, for the world you live in, for the universe, and for your children. Realizing that every choice has its consequence.

What, in your view, is the most important factor for success—in any area of life?

Loving what you do, not being fixated on the result, and being fully present in the moment. If you immerse yourself in the process, the results will follow naturally.

Keep moving forward, keep learning, keep improving every day. Any success is the result of continuous movement. If you’re not moving forward, you’re moving backward. I truly believe that!

What inspires you and keeps you productive?

People inspire me—my family and the people who join my project. Together, we achieve amazing results. Their success especially inspires me.

It’s important not to fear stepping out of your comfort zone—this always leads to growth.

I also love traveling. Every year brings new experiences that make me marvel like a child at the miracles our bodies are capable of.

What goals do you have now? What are your future plans?

I truly want to expand the culture of healthy eating across our country. I want to see positive changes in schools and families. That’s my big goal and mission.

I want to help unite people through food, promote and evolve the culture of healthy eating, and restore the lost value of the family unit. The more people join Fooditation, the more joy it brings to my heart.
