Yulia Skiba: The main request of every person is always about happiness
Yulia Skiba is a feng shui expert, a specialist in energy typing of space and type of personality, the first specialist in macrobiotic nutrition in Ukraine. Yulia has been in the subject of feng shui and astrology Ba Tzu for 15 years and continues to absorb Chinese metaphysics from the best masters of the world.
In an interview with VITAGURU, Yulia told us how she started to practice feng shui, and how it changed her life. Yulia also gave some practical advice and admitted what is the most inspiring for her.
Yulia, tell us about yourself please. How did you start practicing feng shui?
My whole life is a focus on excellent results, starting with a gold medal at school, a red diploma at the Medical University, followed by managerial career in a large pharmaceutical company at the age of 24. Then I continued with a diploma from the Academy of Management, my own business at the age of 27. That was followed by meeting and learning from the best international masters in Eastern metaphysics.
Now I am following my destiny call. I am an expert in Feng Shui and Macrobiotic Nutrition with international practice. I share my knowledge with Universe: I am holding accessible marathons where I help people to apply classical, complex and fundamental information to life

Where did you study?
I got to know Feng Shui a long time ago, in the early 2000s. I started my journey as a student of Natalia Pravdina, later – Olga Nikolaeva, Vladimir Zakharov. Then I continued my studies with such grand Chinese masters as Raymond Lo, Dr. Jin Paeh.
Thanks to Oksana Sakhranova and to the central Feng Shui academy of the Grand Master Leiau in Malaysia I am now a specialist in the successive line of knowledge of Master Yong Pen. This knowledge is shared in oral form with 3 generations, from Master to student.
How did feng shui change your life?
First it was an inspiring hobby, but with the imposing of knowledge and techniques of Feng Shui on practice, even at the initial level, my life began to change rapidly. Everything began to improve in a very easy way, more or less by itself.
I have experienced huge career changes: at a fairly young age, I took a leadership position in a large pharmaceutical company. I met my future husband, the person I dreamed of. We have been together for 15 years.
Before, I had a feeling that I still have to walk a long way to make life the way I want it. It seemed to me that I still need to work and do a lot to achieve my goals. But with the help of Feng Shui, everything began to change in an easy way. I lost the feeling that I have to overcome anything in order to get what I want. People around me also noticed that remarkable changes, and began to ask for consultations. So I began to give lectures and consultations, later followed by regular studies.
What requests do they turn to you with as a Feng Shui master?
I advise people and companies on construction, rearrangements, redevelopment, so that the premises work more efficiently. I am also involved in analysis of premises at the stage of selection before renting or buying, in order to deal with premises where life will be happier and business will be more successful
Also, frequent requests for harmonization of houses and offices, according to the incoming energies of the year, month, etc
But the main request is always, of course, about happiness; it is different for everyone.

What are the most popular feng shui myths you have heard from your clients?
Those who order a consultation, as a rule, have heard something about Feng Shui, but at the first stage you have to demolish some myths.
For example, many people think that it is possible to activate the wealth and prosperity sector with the help of a certain color or some kind of a figure.
Feng Shui helps, first of all, to use the geometry of space correctly. That is not about frogs and symbolism.
I do not deny symbolism, things can bring joy, but classical feng shui is not about that at all. Feng Shui is the ability to build an energy map and correctly apply it to your space.
How is it to organize the space properly to fill the house with positive energy?
In order to properly tune the energy of your home, you need some skill or a consultation. The energy of our house depends on three main factors: the “passport” of the house: the date of construction and settlement, the “face” of the house (facade), and the exact compass direction of the front door. All these factors make an impact on what kind of a “card” the home will obtain and how to use it in the future.
It’s hard to provide universal advice that will work for everyone. I run marathons where I help to figure it out in order to properly manage your energy, to be filled with it.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to change something in their home? Where should one start?
I would advise you to pay as much attention as possible to ensure that the house has space. It’s the most important. The pile of things, littering in the house blocks the energy of one or the other area of your life
Energy is a flow, the flow of Qi needs free space, energy should not “stumble” over closed and narrow rooms, very low ceilings, etc. Energy also needs to be comfortable, it needs space to flow smoothly
Therefore, first of all, I would recommend to clean up the corners, freeing up space in all of the cabinets. You will immediately feel that you literally breathe easier.
The main rule: throw away all the things that you have not used for over a year, free up space for something new.

Are there any things or objects that are strictly prohibited in the house?
There are no prohibited items. It is only about everything being in the right place, balanced in size and activity, harmonious in Yin and Yang energies.
For specific examples, I would not recommend keeping water subjects such as an aquarium in your bedroom. The bedroom is a place where one rests and gains strength, so moving water is not entirely correct.
The correct location of the stove is also very important. It is critical to well-being, relationships and health.
What does a holistic, conscious lifestyle mean to you? Share your personal wellness rules.
My attitude to a holistic, conscious lifestyle is based on the key concept – not to lie to yourself
There is a macrobiotic system that I am committed to. This is not just a nutritional system, not a diet, it is a whole philosophy of life.
The founder of modern macrobiotics, George Ozawa, compiled a scale of 7 points to determine the state of his health – physical and mental.
George Ozawa Scale:
- A good appetite.
- You don’t get tired (you wake up easily, fell asleep easily, and good energy accompanies you all day, you do not feel sleepy)
- Good sleep
- Good memory
- You think quickly, make decisions quickly, and don’t hesitate to make choices
- Good sense of humor (you are positive and cheerful)
- You don’t lie to yourself or to others

If I do not lie to myself, then I am in harmony with myself, with my attitude, I do not depend on someone else’s opinion, I am free from the need to be admired and worthy of attention, I do not need to spend a lot of energy. It results in my health, on maintaining some other image. When I’m not lying, I don’t need to waste my energy outside, and hence harmony, satisfaction and dreams and kindness are around.
Don’t lie to others. We always know whether we are doing the right thing or not, whether we love that one who is close to us, then there is both purity of actions and thoughts, and true love.
Don’t lie to your body. This means that we always know what is useful and what is not, and if we agree to buns, hamburgers, as if out of “love” and tenderness for our being, “we need to pamper ourselves” then we are lying to ourselves. Health = energy = honesty.
These are always both criteria and ways to track whether you are doing everything right.
What inspires you, helps you to be productive?
Inspiration is a special feeling of fullness of life and happiness, a joyful and optimistic condition, which consists of many elements: the fact that you have a big and friendly family, a favorite job, your own business, where you are constantly developing and improving yourself. It is what you do what helps other people to be happier; it is that you have enough time and love to bring up your child, to share your values and your love with your children.
Each person has his own Ba-Tzu card. There is a lot of people element in my card, and I realized that people inspire me a lot. I love interacting with people, I love it when they succeed, it gives you a special feeling.
Interacting with people is a limitless energy that fills you up and stimulates you. Especially if it’s useful according to your Ba Tzu card.
What do you think is the most important for success, in any area of life?
I believe that the most important thing is the feeling of fire, which exists in every person, when he is truly inspired by his work, when he is in love with what he wants to realize
This fire starts in the heart. By adding meaningful regular action and a good environment to this inner glow, you can always achieve success.
