Most popular time management systems
Our productivity and ability to cope with all tasks often depends on the ability to manage our own time. To gain this ability, most people turn to various time management systems that help to save and effectively distribute their main resource – time. To save your time, we suggest considering four key management systems. Perhaps one of them will help you to be more effective.
Stephen Covey System
This system is based on Stephen Covey’s book “The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People”. The approach to time management, on the basis of which this strategy was developed, is called “top to bottom”. Using this system, you should focus on the main goal in your life. Moving along this fetters, you will solve small goals in parallel, unnoticed by yourself.
Stephen Covey’s system will teach you how to prioritize correctly, which will therefore be a deciding factor in planning your next steps. To do this, distribute all your goals as follows:
- Important and urgent.
- Important, but not urgent.
- Not important, but urgent.
- Not important nor urgent.
According to the author of the methodology, most people focus on blocks 1, 3, and 4, but this system is focused on fulfilling the second rule. This will help to focus your attention on basic life goals.
David Allen system
A very popular system, based on the book “Getting Things Done” and lies in the fact that with the help of tools such as “control” and “organization” a person can concentrate on achieving the most important goals in a certain time allotted for this.
To learn how to effectively manage your time, David Allen proposes to conditionally systematize all yourgoals into 4 blocks:
- Urgent business
- Ongoing projects
- Deferred business and projects
- Dreams, the time for which has not come yet.
Classification will help you concentrate and direct your efforts to the implementation of important tasks, and then all the rest. The main thing is not to do everything simultaneously. You will succeed only if you continuously follow this system. As soon as you decide to pause, you have to start all over again.
Brian Tracy system
The principle of this system is a clear statement of your own goals and conditional visualization of their achievement. The author is confident that a clear understanding of the end result can stimulate and discipline us. This system is suitable for those who need practical advice on combating procrastination and avoiding distractions.
Julia Morgenstern system
This method of self-organization is called “inside out.” It helps to understand what exactly we spend time on, what is motivation and effectiveness. Using this system will help you gain such useful skills as timing and planning.
We hope that these systems will help you succeed in planning your own time!
