How to organize a home workplace
Work at home is one of the most relevant work formats in the modern world. This is very convenient because you save time and money that you could spend on the journey to work. The home environment, however, often affects productivity due to the presence of many distractions. To increase its efficiency, you need to properly set up the workplace.
Work zone. Choose the most peaceful place in the house (preferably away from the bed, sofa and refrigerator). A place near the window will be ideal. Natural light and street view will stimulate brain activity.
Light. Natural light directly affects efficiency, as the body and brain are energized. With artificial light, productivity drops, but if you often work in the dark, take care of high-quality lighting. If the windows are placed on the sunny side, try to position yourself so that the sun does not shine in the eyes and on the monitor screen.
A clean desktop is pure thoughts. Psychologists argue that desktop clutter can lower productivity. On the desktop should be only those things that you need to work, depending on the type of activity.
Furniture. If possible, make sure that the workplace is equipped with special furniture, and not on the kitchen table or bar counter. The same applies to the chair – there should be a comfortable working chair, not very soft and not very hard. Your back should feel comfortable.
Regime. Very often, the work schedule at home is too arbitrary and you can easily work longer than expected, without noticing it, and fail to devote time to your family or housework. Set a clear work schedule and stick to it. Do not be distracted by housework while you work and vice versa. Only in this way, you will be in time to do everything and you will have enough time for yourself, family and rest, which is necessary to restore strength.
