Childhood with a book
Modern children from an early age become friends with gadgets. However, the progress of digital technology has led to the development of one, not very comforting trend – children’s indifference towards books.
In order to draw attention to the popularization of reading among children, in 1967 the International Children’s Book Day was organized, which is celebrated annually on April 2 – the birthday of the famous Danish writer Hans Christian Andersen. The initiators of the holiday also annually award Hans Christian Andersen International Prize to the best author and best illustrator.
